Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate

  • Provide Project Management Services to the S&T CIO.  The PM supported the CIO on two of the largest projects S&T has ever undertaken.
  • Baseline various IT projects identified by the CIO as priority Initiatives
  • Manage the design and implementation of S&T Net, a SBU network providing services to S&T laboratories located outside the National Capital Region.
  • This network is the first new LAN environment implemented at DHS in over five years.
  • S&T Net is the only network at DHS to meet all federal and DHS guidelines for security and target architecture.
    • Direct the execution and oversight of the network and systems engineering projects, as directed by the CIO.
    • Manage the DHS collaboration with ManTech to update and refresh the federally-mandated SAFETY Act Management System.
    • Largest system re-engineering project in the history of S&T, increasing ease of management and lowering costs.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)

DGS has been awarded the FEMA COMMIT IDIQ and continues to provide support to associated Task Orders.

  • Provide the COMMIT team’s network operations monitoring, survivability, information security, supportability and interoperability functions, and technology refresh for the FEMA network assets.
  • Rapid addition of Joint Field Offices (JFOs) and mobile units to the architecture via landlines or satellite communications, the National Warning System (NAWAS), DHS OneNet, and the Secure Operations Center.

What We Do


While traditional defensive posturing provides adequate security for many of our clients, DGS also provides counter-intrusion measures through cyber security expertise, forensics analysis, and various exploitation techniques. This provides a truly comprehensive approach to IT Security.
