Job Description:
The candidate will provide Red Hat Enterprise Linux Engineering and Administration in support of DHA.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot RHEL based systems
  • Maintain STIG compliance of RHEL based systems
  • System performance benchmarking and analysis in VMware ESXi virtual environments
  • Maintain security patches on all RHEL based systems
  • Maintain the VMware ESXi virtual environment
  • Provide configuration updates to meet user requirements on all RHEL systems and services
  • Manage accounts, network rights, and systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability
  • Implement security procedures and tools
  • Automate manual tasks where possible
  • Make recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of servers
  • Basic Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of hands on experience as a Linux (primarily RHEL) Administrator performing the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software systems
  • Knowledge of storage systems
  • Knowledge of virtualization concepts as well as industry best practices to include virtualization technologies and management tools
  • Skilled with shell scripting. Perl, PHP, CGI is a plus.
  • Experience with chassis/blade/storage system hardware configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Thorough understanding of essential network services such as DNS, SMTP, NTP, IMAP, and SNMP
  • Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with the Puppet Labs configuration management system
  • Experience with Kickstart RHEL installs
  • Experience with Nagios network monitoring software
  • Experience with the Zimbra Enterprise Email Server platform
  • Experience with NetApp storage arrays
  • Experience with Splunk logging solution
  • Required Certifications:

  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent experience in Unix/Linux systems engineering or administration
  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) preferred
