DGS is a Security and Intelligence Firm, striving to provide the highest quality services to our Federal Government Customers.
Managing the balance between an organizations IT, Security, and Operational needs is a critically important function that must be identified and articulated if an organization is to be successful. DGS provides the balanced solution that will prioritize existing resources available within an organization, determine next steps in order to achieve objectives, and institute a repeatable process that facilitates strategic goals.
Policy and Process Support
Strong processes and policies are the bedrock of any successful organization. Good processes and policies allow an organization to run as efficiently as possible by providing a constant and repeatable method for completing projects and tasks or simply day-to-day operations.
DGS creates processes and policies customized to the unique environments of its customers in order to allow their employees to work smarter, not harder in reaching their goals and objectives. Through the implementation of consistent and repeatable processes DGS’s customers can more easily handle new projects, workforce changeover or any of the other myriad of issues faced in the Information Technology arena.
Project Management
Undocumented processes, loss of “institutional knowledge”, and the lack of defined roles & responsibilities are all potential organizational pitfalls. Through the implementation of the DGS’s methodology customers can more easily handle new and/or existing projects, workforce turnover, or any of the other myriad of issues faced in the Information Technology arena.
DGS advises and coordinates with an organization’s leadership on consistent approaches to decision-making through a set of policies, plans, procedures, and structures (i.e. Steering Committees, Investment Review Boards) as well as assessing whether all relevant requirements from legislation, policy, and guidance are being met.
- Provide a methodology for accomplishing Management priorities while ensuring continuing maturity of the organization
- Ensure information dissemination including documentation management and reporting remain in the forefront of all cross-functional related activities (i.e. client to organization, functional office to functional office, management to staff)
- Develop clear and consistent ways to measure success and demonstrate results for senior management and internal and external oversight
Security
The government and private sectors are inundated with threats both real and perceived from a variety of sources within the physical and cyber worlds. Security professionals have become overwhelmed by the variety of threats including hackers, terrorists, and common criminals. DGS can develop a comprehensive Security strategy and prioritized action plan that can be quickly implemented within the existing client environment.
While the number of security protection measures that are available has increased, the lack of solutions for integrating these tools has also contributed to the ineffectiveness of many security programs. As importantly, many organizations senior management and leadership struggle with the continued rise in costs to properly outfit and maintain their security groups. Meanwhile there is little understanding of the value added benefits of these expenditures. DGS will document and prioritize IT and Security requirements for future years to facilitate the CPIC process
All of this combines to create the workplace that has become all to familiar; business operations is not seamlessly integrated with the security enterprise, further complicated by security professionals that are neglected organizationally until an inevitable security incident occurs. Knowledgeable and experienced security professionals that can provide both onsite real-time support and offsite staff who will facilitate the transition from current capabilities to a world-class organization.
